Partner Africa Ethiopia is a project aimed at promoting and strengthening German-Ethiopian business partnerships in the textile sector.

The project is jointly implemented by the Confederation of the German Knitting Industry (GESAMTMASCHE), the Ethiopian Textile and Garment Manufacturers Association (ETGAMA), and the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture (MoA). It is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and supported by sequa gGmbH.

The project focuses on the further development of Ethiopia’s textile sector, beginning with cotton production. Its objective is to strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and quality through measures that promote sustainable cotton and textile production, while facilitating business partnerships between Ethiopian companies and partners in Germany, Europe, and international markets.

In the long term, the project aims to contribute to the preservation and creation of jobs in Ethiopia, while increasing the share of transparently and sustainably produced textile products and strengthening the integration of Ethiopian businesses into international textile value chains.
